Designed specifically for the telecommunications industry, the TL 9000 standard establishes a common set of quality system requirements for the design, development, production, and delivery of telecommunication products such as hardware, software, or services.
TL 9000 is based on existing industry standards, including ISO 9002 and QS 9000,
with additional requirements such as cost and performance-based metrics that
measure customer satisfaction and quality performance. Examples of these metrics
include on-time delivery, customer satisfaction, yield/scrap, returns, and productivity/efficiency.
These measurements provide performance information and help identify improvement opportunities. Some of the benefits of implementing TL 9000 are:
