The CPD Quality Assurance group has responsibility for assuring the implementation and continued effectiveness of the departmental quality management system. This effort includes guiding continuous improvement efforts, managing the Preventive and Corrective Action system, and Administering RMNs, and conducting final inspections of assembled product. The department performs both manual and automated optical inspection (AOI) . CPD QA Inspectors are certified in the IPC-A-610 standard and use this standard as the default workmanship inspection criteria. Any special requirements are identified in work instructions and drawings provided through Product Engineering. QA Engineering has responsibility for gathering and analyzing quality performance data. Results of their analysis are fed back to Manufacturing and Engineering in a timely manner, and are used to guide and support continuous improvement efforts. QA Engineering actively supports customer quality initiatives through administration of recognized processes such as process studies, control plans, and PPAPs. |
