Basic Soldering
This course covers the basics of hand soldering. Topics covered are: Soldering Tools and Equipment, Solder Materials, Preparing to Solder and Through-hole soldering techniques. There is a practical lab exercise where the student builds a working workmanship sample.

Wire and Terminal Soldering
This course comes from module 2 of the J-STD-001 worker proficiency course. The student will strip and tin wires, and wraps wires around various terminals. The soldering workmanship samples must meet class 3 products from the J-STD-001 criteria.

Through-hole Component Identification
This course covers how to identify through-hole components, how to read color-coded resistors, how to read capacitor values, identify the difference between axial leaded parts and radial leaded parts, identify polarity markings, and pin one designation.

Surface Mount Component Identification
This course covers the identification of surface mount components. The student will learn how to read the values on chip resistors, chip capacitors, how to identify polarity markings and pin one designation.

An IPC registered instructor conducts this course. The course covers the acceptability of printed boards. Module 1 covers an introduction, Module 2 covers Externally Observable Characteristics, and Module 3 covers Internally Observable Characteristics.

Topics covered are as follows: Scope, Applicable Documents, General Requirements, Materials, Components, Assembly Processes, Assembly Soldering Processes, Cleanliness Requirements, Assembly Requirements, Coating and Encapsulation, Rework and Repair, and Miscellaneous Requirements.

IPC-7711 and 7721
An IPC registered instructor conducts these courses. IPC-7711 covers Rework of Electronic Assemblies. IPC 7721 covers Repair and Modification of Printed Boards and Electronic Assemblies. These courses cover the procedural requirements, tools, materials and methods to be used in the modification, rework, repair overhaul or restoration of electronic products.

Bare Board Fabrication (PCB-101)
